Security & Facilities

Our security is managed by Grinnell security services. Our guards are carefully selected to suit our complex needs. Please email the managing agents if you have any complaints or issues with the guards on duty.

The security onsite has a backup armed response from CITY BOWL if the necessity arises.

We have a CCTV system in place at Sutton Place with 25 cameras, including perimeter cameras with human recognition. The system is monitored in our security room and most of the cameras record events (some of them only record if there is activity).

All cameras are connected to a 24/7 recording system and the Managing Agent is able to use this footage to identify any issues or wrong doers when incidents occur.

The system is also connected to the fibre and backup WiFi link servicing Time Square and is accessible for real-time live monitoring when the need arises.

Video footage is retained for about 4 weeks before it is automatically and permanently erased. Should you need access to footage please make such a request with a specific time frame that is as short as possible and ensure your request is made before the footage is automatically erased.

Sutton Place has appointed Octotel for the fiber infrastructure, that means that you can get choose from any of the Octotel services providers for your Fibre subscription. Please check on this page who the available providers in our area are.

The fibre optic system has the old traditional DSTV system that is being phased out as it is no longer capable of delivering all services to residents. This system carries not only DSTV but also the OVHD signals (FREE TO AIR) for residents that require basic access to television services.

We want to inform all residents of Sutton Place that the previous system for Internet and DSTV services is now considered obsolete and has not been upgraded or maintained. As a result, it is no longer able to meet the increasing demands of DSTV data transmission and provide the necessary capabilities for high-resolution viewing.

This issue was addressed a few years ago by implementing a new fibre optic signal distribution system, which offers enhanced connectivity and a wider range of entertainment options. This new system replaces the outdated infrastructure and ensures that residents can enjoy high-speed internet and DSTV services with the highest resolutions available.

We kindly request all residents to refrain from using the old system as it is no longer supported and may not provide reliable service. Instead, we encourage you to take advantage of the new fibre optic system by contacting ASI, the authorized supplier responsible for operating in the distribution board. We have a common washing line at the back-right of the building. Please use it as you are not allowed to put any washing on your balconies.

There is a refuse room at the back of the building, just at the right down the passage, last door on the right.
